Buffum Park

*Click on photos for better clarity, resolution, and photo details*

This project is located within the Harambee neighborhood. Buffum Park is a community project a few years in the making. It is spearheaded by longtime (40 years plus) resident Ms. Josephine Keys. Prior to Love Your Block the space had two garden beds and two bench planters that were in need of some TLC. Youth volunteers from Milwaukee’s Earn and Learn program helped with cleaning up, weeding and putting in a new wood chip path. More volunteers from community partners and the neighborhood helped add wood to raise the garden beds (to make them more ADA compliant),

fixed old planter benches and filled the garden beds and planters with new soil.
