Who can apply for a Love Your Block mini-grant? 

​

​

To qualify, projects must be no more than five blocks away from the Targeted Investment Neighborhood (TIN) boundaries. Here is the complete list of boundaries LYB is offered in:

Brody: N 50th St to N 65th St / W Villard Ave to W Bender Ct

Clarke Square: S Cesar Chavez Dr to S 29th St / W Burnham St to W Pierce St

Century City: N 23rd St to N 41st St / W Clarke St to W Townsend St ; N 22nd St to N 41st St / W Townsend St to W Ruby Ave

Harambee North: N Weil St to N 7th St / Clarke St to Vienna Ave

Roosevelt Grove: N 35th St to N 45th St / W Chambers St to W Hope Ave

Tri-Block: N 46th St to N 61st St (or City limits) / W Garfield Ave to W Nash St

Walker Square: S 4th St to S Cesar Chavez Dr / W Burnham St to W Bruce St

Washington Park: N 27th St to N 40th St / W Highland Blvd to W Clarke St

If you are interested in applying for a community project located outside of the Love Your Block area, please consider applying for a Community Improvement Project (CIP) with the City of Milwaukee. For more information about applying for a CIP grant, click here!

Obligations of mini-grant recipients

  • Promote a high level of community engagement throughout the neighborhood.

​

  • Attend project and budget consultation meeting after application acceptance.

​

  • Show proof of outside funding for projects over $1,000.

​

  • Report project data and track volunteers throughout the project.

​

  • Complete and submit a final report 1-2 weeks after project completion that includes: documentation of participating volunteers, a detailed budget with receipts, and before & after pictures of project site.

​

  • Attend sustainability meeting following the completion of the project.

​

  • Applications will be accepted from November 18, 2019 through May 1, 2020
